Also known as yard long beans. Early maturing, vigorous, disease resistant variety. produces long dark green cylindrical-shaped pods as long as 30 inches. This variety is characterized by high yield and a long harvest period. Great par-boiled or pickled. Plant Asparagus Beans 1 month after the last spring frost or when the soil has warmed up significantly. Sow direct and leave a 3" space between plants.

How to grow asparagus beans:
Grow asparagus beans as you would green beans. Sow direct when the soil temperature is above 55 degrees. You may sow seeds early provided you sow them under a mini hoophouse, where the temperature can be raised to meat the 55 F. Different from growing green beans, asparagus beans can be sown close together, like you woul growing peas. 2-3 inches apart between each plant will provide plenty room for it to grow. Beans usually takes 75-80 days to mature.
